Abstract
Objective To master the edible salt iodine content in the latest standard( GB26878) implementation of households consumption of iodized salt,to find problems timely and take appropriate intervention measures to provide the scientific basis for the continuous elimination of iodine deficiency disorders. Methods According to theHenan Province IDD monitoring schemerequirement in 10 counties( cities) and districts, residents' edible salt sample was collected, and then quantitative determination of laboratory was done. Direct titration method was used in iodine salt detection. Results A total of 2865 salt samples were monitored in 10 counties(cities) and districts, iodized salt coverage rate, qualified iodized salt and iodized salt consumption rates were 98. 64%,93. 74% and 92. 46% respectively, and the rate of non- iodized salt was 1. 37%. In 10 counties(cities) and districts,Baofeng county's qualified iodized salt rates was 90%(81. 61%). Baofeng and Ruzhou county's iodized salt consumption rates was 90%,with 81. 34% and 89. 0% respectively. Conclusion Since the new standards implementation, iodized salt coverage rate and qualified rate of iodized salt consumption can meet the national requirements of the standard of eliminating IDD. Monitoring and supervision of iodization in enterprise and iodized salt market, and prevention and control of iodine deficiency disorders should be strengthened.
