Abstract
When analyzing complicated measured data, piecewise curve-fitting is often chosen. The best approximation can be achieved in each piece, but the fitting result is not continuous and differentiability at the boundary point between neighbor pieces. For conquering this limitation, a new method of smoothing piecewise functions is provided, and some error bounds are also given in this paper. At last, the method for using it in piecewise curve fitting is given and an application example is given in analyzing the measure data of cam.
