A Brief Analysis of the Females in the Traditional Culture of Buddhism

The traditional Buddhism is a patriarchal culture with man as its core.Most of the senior positions have been taken by male immortals in the celestial world.Except the Guanyin(a Bodhisattva),there have left a few places at the borderline for the Goddess.The nun is an important humanity factor in the culture of Buddhism.Devoted themselves to the Buddhism,the nuns have made much contribution to the development of Buddhism culture.However,in the situation of Buddhist monks and nuns,monks are superior to nuns,which reflects the relationship of respected male and humble female in the Buddhism ethics.
