Observation of the therapeutic effect of acupuncture injection on motor skill disorders in children with cerebral palsy

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the value of GMFM in assessing the acupuncture effect on children with cerebral palsy.Methods:39 children received acupuncture injection.The changes of motor function before and after the therapy were evaluated using GMFM.Results:After 3 periods of treatment,the total scores of GMFM increased form 26.8±20.5 to 36.0±22.4,P0.001.Conclusion:The changes of motor function in children with cerebral palsy could be cvaluated using the score of GMFM.GMFM may be used as a good marker of the effect of acupuncture therapy on children with cerebral palsy.
