Abstract

The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine is a very important work in the history of science and technology in China, which contains abundant thoughts of philosophy. This book based its philosophical logic on medical science and stood out by its particular features in Chinese philosophical history. It surpasses the philosophical system of pre-Qin period in aspects of illustrating the relationships between human and nature, body and spirit, providing detail explanation of the causes of many diseases etc. It also has great influences on later philosophical systems, particularly on the materialistic philosophy.
