Abstract

The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is one of the most widely applied network management models based on TCP/IP.This paper describes the development and the basic content of SNMP,at the same time, the management of SNMP is analyzed.Some ideas are proposed for the designing of the network management system of SNMP based on its five major functions.
