Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and left atrial remodeling in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods: The serum levels of TNF-α,lipid and other clinical indicators were measured in samples of 102 atrial fibrillation(Af) patients diagnosed with electrocardiogram(ECG) and 91 normal individuals confirmed with sinus rhythm of the crowd by ECG in Nantong city. The left atrial diameter(LAD) were measured by echocardiography(UCG).Results: LAD of the atrial fibrillation group and the control group showed a normal distribution, that of the atrial fibrillation group was(44.51±6.83) mm,of the control group was(34.06±1.71) mm,the variance between them was significant(P0.01).The TNF-α serum levels of Af group and control group were in line with the normal distribution,TNF-α level of Af group(130.56±23.49) pg/mL was significantly higher than that of control group(66.92±18.58) pg/mL,TNF-α level of none paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(NPAf) group(136.24±13.56) pg/mL was significantly higher than that of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAf) group(119.21±13.56) pg/mL,t test showed that there was a significant difference between them(P0.01).Conclusion: TNF-α level and the pathogenesis of Af may be have some relationship. These results indicate that inflammation could induce atrial electrical remodeling and atrial structural remodeling, thereby promots the occurrence and persistence of Af.
