Value of APACH II score combined with procalcitonin detection application in patients with severe Pneumonia

Objective To investigate the value of combined application of APPACH Ⅱ and procalcitonin detection( PCT) in patients with severe pneumonia. Methods 215 patients with severe pneumonia in ICU from September 1,2010 to September 1,2012 were selected to give dynamic monitoring by the combined application of APPACH Ⅱ score and PCT detection. The APPACH Ⅱ score and PCT level were analyzed and compared between the survival group and the death group. Results There was no significant difference on APPACH Ⅱscore and PCT values between the two groups on the first day. Since then,the APPACHⅡscore and PCT values decreased obviously in the survival group,and they increased clearly in the death group( P 0. 05). Conclusion Dynamic monitoring of APACHⅡscore has positive correlation with PCT. The higher the two figures are,the more serious the state of illness is and the higher the mortality is.
