Correction of Lateral Deviation of Mandible with the Intraoral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy

Objective To investigate the effect of intraoral sagittal split ramus osteotomy in patient with lateral deviation of mandible.Methods 32 cases were selected who suffered of lateral deviation of mandible to received sagittal split ramus osteotomy and orthodontic therapy, among the total, 12 cases were received genioplasty at the same time.Results 32 cases recovered well in contour and function without serious complications in or after operations.Conclusion The sagittal split ramus osteotomy could be an effective method to treat lateral deviation of mandible comparatively.Combinded with genioplasty,it could bring about satisfying result.
