Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of Nd:YA G las er for transscleral contact cyclophotocoagulation in the treatment of glaucoma. Methods Thirty-one eyes of 30 glaucoma patients were treated wi th Nd:YAG laser. The treatment sports were determined by intraocular pressure le vel. The intraocular pressure, visual acuity and complication were observed in t he 4-year follow-up.Results The intraocular pressure in both neovascular glaucoma and other type refractory glaucoma was lowered significantl y after treatment (P0.01). The successful rate was similar in both neovascu lar glaucoma and other type refractory glaucoma(P0.05). Conclusion Transscleral contact Nd:YAG laser cyclophotocoagulation is a safe, effec tive procedure to reduce the intraocular pressure in the treatment of refracti ve glaucoma.
