Abstract
The effects of the solution composition and process conditions on stainless steel passivation were investigated,the results showed that: in the stainless steel passivation solution composed of HNO3 and H2O2,the high concentrations of fluoride helped the formation of passivation film with high corrosion resistance and more than 168 hours of neutral salt spray test,also enhanced the stability of hydrogen peroxide in the solution.The energy disperse spectroscopy(EDS) analysis results showed that after treated with the passivation solution containing high concentrations of fluoride,the composition of the passivation film on surface of stainless steel became more uniform and no harmful Si and S,increased beneficial Cr content in the passivation film and the corrosion resistance of stainless steel significantly.
