Abstract
Objective To develop a modiffied method of acute isolation of rat cortex neurons, and observe its ion current with patch clamp. Methods The cortex neurons were obtained by a combination of mechanical and enzymatic means from 12 16 day old rats.Patch clamp technique was used to measure the electrophysiological properties of the neurons. Results The neurons isolated in this way had regular configuration. The neuraxons of them were very long. With patch clamp techniques,we found that the methods could save the activities of primary iron channels. Conclusion A simple and fast method for acutely isolating rats cortex neurons suitable for patch clamp is successfully found.
