Abstract

Objective To evaluate the application of three dimensional digital subtraction angiography(DSA),transcranial doppler sonography(TCD) and carotid ultrasonography with CDFI in diagnosis of transient ischemic attack(TIA).Methods DSA,TCD and carotid ultrasonography with CDFI were performed in 56 patients with carotid disease, and then the abnormalities in carotid artery system were analyzed. Results Among the 840 extracranial and intracranial blood vessels,DSA showed stenosis in 42 and occlusion in 16,and TCD showed stenosis in 35 and occlusion in 27.Among the 448 intracranial blood vessels,DSA revealed stenosis in 16 and occlusion in 5,TCD revealed stenosis in 18 and occlusion in 10,and carotid ultrasonography with CDFI revealed stenosis in 23 and occlusion in 4.Conclusion Combined application of DSA,TCD and carotid ultrasonography with CDFI can make an objective evaluation of the etiology and diagnosis of ischemic cerebrovascular sisease. As the gold standard for the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral or carotid artery stenosis,as well as for the selection of therapeutic regimen,DSA plays an important role in the further interventions of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
