Abstract
The adsorption property of magnetic chitosan nanoparticle for humic acid and metal ions were studied. The adsorption performance of the absorbent on metal ions(Cu2+,Pb2+ and Cd2+) were affected by the presence of humic acid. The experimental results show that the highest adsorption capacity of 292 mg/g for humic acid is obtained at pH=11.The adsorption equilibrium was arrived in 15 min.The adsorption capacity for humic acid remained 60% of the initial adsorption capacity after being used five times.Furthermore, the Fe3O4-chitosan particles could be used to absorb metal ions after adsorption of humic acid.Compared with the results of metal ions alone adsorption, the adsorption capacities for Cu2+ and Pb2+ were decreased while the adsorption capacity for Cd2+ was greatly increased after adsorption of humic acid.
