Abstract
Foreign language learning motivation is the most important factor to influence learning effect.Many internal and external scholars have made a lot of researches.Gardner and Lambert classified English learning motivation into instrumental motivation and integrative motivation.Motivation may too be classified into internal motivation and external motivation;long-term motivation and short-term motivation.By questionnaire investigation about English learning motivation for English major students in higher professional school,analyzes the type of motivation,motivation situation,motivation intensity,and relationship among type of motivation,motivation intensity and learning achievement.Puts forward material suggestions on how to help students regulate and inspire motivation.
