Abstract

World Medicine Association(WMA) General Assembly adopted the 2008 revision of the Declaration of Helsinki in 2008.The 2008 version not only gives up the 2000 version's standpoints on the use of placebos,the allocation of post-trial benefits and publication of the results of research,but also gives more restrict ethical requirements on medical research.Thus,the 2008 version gives more protection for human subjects and adheres to a higher standard of research ethics.However,these amendments will also bring more conflicts of interests.
