Abstract
An effective heavy hydrocarbon degradation bacterium named Z-3 was isolated from the heavy oil sample of Xinjiang Middle District No.6 oil reservoir, using phenanthrene as the sole carbon source. The optimized culture conditions of Z-3 were as follows:temperature was 25℃,salinity was 5000×10-6 and pH value was 6.0.The results of heavy crude oil degradation experiment showed that the crude oil was obviously emulsified and its degradation rate was as high as 40% after Z-3 being cultured for 3 days. The core simulation oil displacement experiment showed that the oil recovery was enhanced 12%~18%.The above mentioned properties of Z-3 suggested that it had a potential application in microbial enhanced oil recovery(MEOR)and bioremediation of oil-polluted environment.
