Abstract
Objective: To analyze the etiology of cerebral palsy(CP) and the risk factors, to provide reference for preventing and treating CP. Methods: We retrospectively studied and analyzed 125 CP patients in three hospitals in the past 9 months. The investigated factors included various possible prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal causes of cerebral palsy. Results: The main etiology of CP included 25 possible risk factors, with 9 ones in prenatal period,7 in perinatal period and 9 in postnatal period. Conclusions: The premature delivery, low birth weight, maternal complications in pregnacy, asphyxia and twins are the risk factors causing childhood CP.It is very important to remind people and doctors of recognizing these risk factors. It is also helpful to prevent, diagnose and treat cerebral palsy as soon as possible.
