Abstract

OBJECTIVE To observe the TCM syndrome characteristics of elderly type 2 diabetes.METHODS Clinical epidemic investigation method was applied for 351 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes to conduct 19 syndromes observation analysis.RESULTS ①Among the patients, the deficiency syndrome and deficiency-excess complicated syndrome were more than excess syndrome; Both excess and deficiency syndrome among male were more than female, while the deficiency-excess complicated syndrome in male was less than female(P0.01).②Among different ages, the deficiency-excess complicated syndrome was more commonly seen. The distributions of deficiency syndrome, excess syndrome and deficiency-excess complicated syndrome had no significant difference among different ages(p=0.522).③The deficiency-excess complicated syndrome is commonly seen in different disease courses. As the increase of the course, deficiency syndrome and excess syndrome increased, while the deficiency-excess complicated syndrome decreased. The distribution difference had statistical significance(P0.01).④Kidney deficiency, yang deficiency, yin deficiency,qi deficiency and spleen deficiency were the 5 most commonly seen syndromes. But at different ages, the occurrence frequency of different deficiency syndromes was different, distribution difference having obvious statistcal significance(P0.01).⑤Blood stasis, dampness,qi stagnation, heat, phlegm are the 5 most commonly seen syndromes. But at different ages, the occurrence frequency of different excess syndromes was different, distribution difference having obvious statistcal significance(P0.01).CONCLUSION ① The deficiency-excess complicated syndrome is the most commonly seen clinical syndrome among elderly type 2 diabetes.②Among the excess syndrome, blood stasis, dampness,qi stagnation, heat, phlegm are the commonly encountered syndromes and the blood stasis syndrome is the most commonly seen;among the deficiency syndrome, kidney deficiency, yang deficiency, yin deficiency,qi deficiency and spleen deficiency are the commonly encountered types and the kidney deficiency is the most commoly seen type.③During the TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for the elderly diabetes, emphasis should be put on invigortating healthy qi and eliminating pathogenic qi.Reinforcing kidney and remove stasis should be attach special importance and activating qi to alleviate depression should not be forgotten at the same time.
