Abstract
In order to study the characteristic of the formation and penetrating steel target of the wide angle shaped charge, jet formation by wide angle shaped charge and penetration into steel targets were numerically simulated by the software of AUTODYN.The result of numerical simulation shows that large cone shaped charge jet is that the liner reverse backward and funnel compact jet under the effect of the detonation wave. The jet speed remains constant in flight, whereas the penetration speed and kinetic energy are descended in penetrating steel target until no longer penetrating the target. The simulation results were compared with the experimental results and shows the result of numerical simulation was in accordance with the experiment.
