In Liang Qichao's eyes,taste is an ideal state,the connotation of which goes far beyond tangible hobbies.Taste is viewed more as a sedate and constant state of mind that can only be achieved when one has risen above and apprehensions and harbors an optimistic attitude toward life.Liang Qichao had a famous saying:the benevolent is free from anxieties to express his view of taste,making it clear that spiritual properties of taste in his mind can be defined by the superior man can find himself in no situation in which he is not himself. Taste,as a sublime state of mind,is result of a person's mental endeavor from his own initiative,the product of one's not being swayed by consideration of success and failure,gain and loss.
