Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and dose-response relationship of procine pulmonary surfactant(PPS) treatment in rats with lung injury after seawater drowning.Methods:24 SD rats inhaled seawater for 120 minutes were randomly divided into 4 groups(n=6,each):one control group with saline treated and three PPS treated groups with different doses(100 mg/kg,150 mg/kg,200 mg/kg).Arterial blood gases and respiratory rate at 30 min,50 min and 120 min during the experiment,survival rate,TNF-ct and TP levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF),light microscopy examination of lung specimens after the experiments were de- termined and performed in four groups,respectively.Result8:Breathing rate(BR)at different time,TNF-αand TP levels in BALF were lower in PPS treated groups than those in control group(P0.05);meanwhile Pa02 at different time and survival rate were higher than those in control group(P0.05).And the pathological changes in lungs were much more significant.Conclusion:Sole application of PPS can obviously alleviate lung injury after seawater drowning,and different doses have different therapeutic effects.
