Abstract
AIM To investigate the expression and significance of epidermal growih factor (EGF), EGF receptor( EGFR) in bladder tran-sitional cell carcinoma(BTCC) .METHODS ABC method was used to determine the cxperssion of EGF and ECFR in 56 specimens from BTCC patients and 20 specimens from para - carcinoma normal tissue. RESULTS EGF or EGFR expression was nearly negative in the para - carcinoma normal tissue. In the 56 specimens from BTCC EGF or EGFR expression was significantly higher than normal tissue. When di-vided into different stage or grade, The EGF and EGFR expression also showed significant differences. CONCLUSION EGF and EGFR expression has some predictive value.
