EXPLORATORY TECHNIQUES AND THEIR ADVANCEMENT OF DEEP VOLCANIC GAS RESERVOIRS IN THE SONGLIAO BASIN

Abstract

There are a great number of volcanic and clastic rock formations in deep Early Cretaceous fault depression in Songliao Basin,abundant gas resource have been discovered in volcanic reservoirs.Combined with recent years' exploration practices in deep volcanic gas reservoirs,this paper summarized 5 items of new exploratory techniques as follows:the geophysical identification method of gas reservoirs,lithologic identification method of reservoirs,identification method of gas formations,drilling techniques of deep gas reservoirs,and trial gas fracturing techniques.Meanwhile,this paper introduced some latest development in the volcanic gas reservoirs in the eastern,southern(such as Zhaoqing),and Anda of Xujiaweizi fault depression.From the present application of these exploratory techniques and effects in those districts,bright prospects for future exploration are presented in deep volcanic gas reservoirs in the Songliao Basin.
