Abstract
Objective Origin of the sensory nerve innervating the kidney in 10 dogs was studied. Methods CB-HRP was injected into one-sided kidney of dog who survived for 2~3 days. Serial frozen sections of the dorsal root ganglia and ganglia nodosum of vagus nerve were cut and processed with TMB method. Results The sensory nerve innervating the kidney in dogs originates from the dorsal root ganglia of T_5~L_3 segments of the bilateral sides. The percentage(90.56%) of the total number of the labelled cells was found in the dorsal root ganglia of T_(10)~L_2 with majority of the labelled cells ovoid, round. A few labelled cells were observed in ganglia nodosum of vagus nerve of the injected side in only 4 dogs. Conclusion The sensory nerve innervating the kidney originates from bilateral T_5~L_3 spinal ganglia and ipsilateral nodose ganglion of dog.
