Abstract

The main preparation methods and application fields of chlorosilane monomer and silicon-substituted polysilane from a mixture called disilane fraction, which is a by-product in direct synthesis of methyl chlorosilane, were summarized. Moreover, the practical significance developing and utilizing the by-product was pointed out.
