Abstract
The traffic conflict technique is a new evaluating method based on non-accident statistics in the traffic safety field. This paper applies this technique to the consideration of the whole traffic condition at urban intersections, and the ratio between the number of traffic conflicts and the traffic volume in typical periods is chosen as the index. The mixed fuzzy clustering method is used to evaluate the safety condition of 8 intersections on the Zhenda road in Zhenjiang City. The conclusion accords with the fact, which proves that the presented method is feasible.
