Abstract
To study the effect of geogrid modulus on surface differential settlement, center point settlement, lateral displacement of embankment on soft ground reinforced by geogrid,a field test was made, and a numerical model based on the finite element theory was built to simulate the interaction between the geogrid and the soil. The differential settlements, center point settlement, lateral displacement of embankment on geogrid reinforced soft ground were analyzed. The effect of geogrid modulus on key displacements was studied. The result shows that the geogrid with relatively higher modulus can efficiently help the control of the key displacements of embankment on geogrid reinforced soft ground. The result of field test is consistent with that of the numerical study.
