Abstract

According to the papers published in CIGRE 2010 Study Committee B4(HVDC AND POWER ELECTRONICS)session,this paper discusses the new trends in HVDC technology,including the ultra-high voltage MTDC technology based on the conventional two-terminal HVDC technology,the technical feasibility and research requirement for ±1000kV and above HVDC technology,the modular multilevel voltage-sourced converter HVDC technology,the cascaded two-level converter VSC-HVDC technology,the hybrid voltage-sourced converter HVDC technology,and the multi-terminal VSC-HVDC technology.
