Screening of Rice Varieties with Drought Resistance in Guizhou

118 introduced rice varieties with good drought resistance were cultivated under the non-irrigation condition from 2009 to 2010 in Guiyang to inspect their drought resistance and screen rice varieties with strong drought resistance for rice production in Guizhou.The results showed that the rice varieties with good drought resistance and 2 558.8～3 639.3℃ accumulation temperature during the total growth period could be cultivated in rice planting areas of Guizhou Province.The hybrid rice varieties with strong drought resistance and higher yield were Quanyin 1,Ganxiangyou 2833,Qianyou 568,Qianliangyou 58 and Guodao 1.The conventional rice varieties with strong drought resistance and higher yield were Wuyujing 3 and Hexi 41.The main cultivation measures to increase effective spikes,total grains per spike and dry matter weight should be adopted under the drought stress in rice cultivation.
