Abstract

Aim: To study the relationship between expressions of peripheral blood lymphocytes CD23,CD40L and serum IgE in asthmatic children. Methods:A total of 40 children with asthm, 25 with discovered asthma,16 with phenmonia, and 28 healthy children were subject to detect the expressions of CD23 and CD40L on peripheral blood lymphocytes by flow cytometry and serum IgE by chemiluminescence immunoassay. Results: CD23, CD40L expressions and serum IgE of children with asthma were significantly higher than those of discovered asthma children, pheumonia children, and health controls( P0.01). The positive correlation between CD23, CD40L and IgE was presented(r=0.74,0.81;P0.01). Conclusion: CD23 and CD40L expression on B lymphocytes may play an important role in the pathogensis of asthma.
