Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT angiography in the diagnoisis of arteriosclerosis obliterans disease (ASO) of lower extremities. Methods A total of 31 patients with ASO of lower extremities were examined with CT angiography on a multi-slice spiral scanner from January 2007 to December 2009. The image data were processed with different techniques of three-dimensional resconstruction, such as volume rendering (VR), maximum intensity projection (MIP), multiplanar rescontruction (MPR), curved planar rescontruction (CPR) on ADW4.1 work station, and generally analyzed based on the original axial images. Results The image display of resconstructed blood vessels of the lower extremities of 31 patients was quite good, whicn exhibited discontinued sclerosis or block of lower extremities arteries with plenty of blood-supply from peripheral collateral arteries. Conclusion Multi-slice spiral CT angiography can display the features of lower extremities arteries clearly, such as vasiform, arterial stenosis degree, occlusion and calcified plaque.
