Abstract

Objective It is to evaluate the effect of Losartan on TNF and ET in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods 80 patients with CHF were randomly divided into Losartan group and Perindopril group. The plasma ET-1, TNF-α and AngⅡ of all the patients were measured before treatment and the first and eighth week after treatment. 40 healthy volunteers were chosen as control group. Results The levels of plasma ET-1, TNF-α and AngⅡ in patients with CHF were all obviously higher than that in control group. There were no differences in improvement rate and aggravation rate of heart function and case-fatality rate between Losartan group and Perindopril group. The plasma AngⅡ level was higher in Losartan group than that in Perindopril group. Conclusion Losartan has salutary clinical and neurohormone effect and better tolerance.
