Abstract
Based on the statistics and analysis of the monitoring data obtained at three atmospheric environmental quality automatic monitoring sites in Urumqi during 2004-2009,it was revealed that the annual average concentrations of PM10,SO2 and NO2 in different district has changed greatly with the constant adjustment of the city layout. The air pollutants concentrations in the south area of city were higher. The concentrations of SO2 and NO2 in the middle of the city displayed a rapid increase.Whereas PM10 concentrations in the north area of the city went up with high speed and was close to the level of south area where the air pollution was the worst.Totally, this study showed that pollutants concentrations have changed obviously in urban space with SO2 as the dominant pollutant in the middle area and PM10 in the south and north area.
