Abstract
The original Linux kernel is not a preemptible kernel.That limits the real-time capability of Linux.Based on the SMP support of Linux,the kernel of Linux can be made fully preemptible conveniently. This paper analyzes the principle of the preemptible kernel and compares two approaches to implement preemption.
