Abstract

[ Objective] To study on adverse health effects of air pollutants from coal combustion and the health risk assessment in Taiyuan. [ Methods] Based on the field monitoring, investigation and parsing of pollutants sources, using mathematic model the exposure to pollutants from coal burning was calculated. The health risk assessment was carried out to estimate the risk of health of the pollutants.[ Results] Of three study areas, the personal annual risk is 1.315×10-5/year in area A,area B: 9.828×10-6/year,area C: 2.652×10-6/year within the acceptable level( 10-5~10-6/year).The personal annual risk is corresponding to the level of air pollution. SO2 and BaP are responsible for 99% of total risk,in annual risk assessment percent.[ Conclusion] SO2 and BaP are the main pollutants, they composed 99% of total risk.
