Abstract
With 1 year old poplar(P.simonii×P.pyramidaliscv.‘Opera 8277’) as materials, the effects of SA on antioxidant enzymes activities,H2O2 contents and O2-.producing rate in poplar leaves under mechanical damage stress were studied. The results showed that SA could significantly increase the level of O2-.and H2O2 in damaged leaves, and also SA could inhibit the activity of antioxidant enzymes(SOD,CAT,APX,POD).Therefore,SA might induce the accumulation of H2O2 by inhibiting the activity of antioxidant enzymes, and H2O2 used as signal molecule to pass wound information and induce poplar defense response.
