Abstract

A two-dimensional numerical wave flume is established to study the breaking standing wave action on a vertical-wall structure in the case of regular wave. The calculated pressure distributions,as well as variations of the pressure time histories at points on the surface of the vertical wall, are compared with that of physical model tests. The features of breaking standing wave action were discussed and the reason of the saddle-like variations of the pressure process is analyzed. The calculated wave forces are compared with that of design code and standing wave theory. The efficiency of present numerical model is verified by the analysis and comparison.
