Abstract

The spectrophotometry for the determination of ascorbic acid based on the inhibition of hemoglobin for the oxidation of H2O2 with acid chrome blue K was developed. The percentage inhibition(I%)of system is under the optimal experimental conditions. The calibration curve is linear in the range of 2.0×10-7—5.9×10-5mol/L with the detection limit of 7.0×10-8mol/L.The relative standard derivation is 2.5% at ascorbic acid concentration of 6.0×10-6mol/L(n=11).This method can be used for the determination of ascorbic acid in pharmaceuticals and vegetables with satisfactory results.
