Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of CD147 in osteosarcoma and its relationship to osteosarcoma clinical pathology and prognosis. Methods The expression of CD147 protein was evaluated immunohistochemically in 76 osteosarcoma specimens and it's relationship to osteosarcoma clinical pathology and prognosis was analyzed statistically. Results The expression of CD147 protein in osteosarcoma was markedly higher than those in normal and benign bone tumor and it was correlated to Enneking grade, Price grade, soft tissue invasion, WHO classification and prognosis. Conclusion The expression of CD147 protein is closely correlated to malignant degree and invasion. It may serve as a valuable marker for diagnosis and an indicator to predict the prognosis of osteosarcoma.
