Abstract

Objective: To compare the clinical effect of Transcranial Doppler ultrasound(TCD)and DSA in evaluation of cerebral vasospasm(CVS)Following spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH).Methods:Retrospective analysis was proceeded on TCD test results of 96 SAH patients who were in Taian centrol Hospital since January 2005.TCD was used to check all cases of SAH on days 7,8~15,15 and DSA was used to check all cases of SAH at the high of the blood flow velocity in the middle cerebral artery(MCA)after SAH.Then the TCD and DSA were compared and analyzed. Results:There was the progressive rising of the blood flow velocity in the middle cerebral artery(MCA) after SAH.When the blood flow velocity was 120,the case of SAH diagnose CVS coincided with the result of DSA at 95%.Conclusion:TCD can non-invasively evaluate the CVS blood flow velocity change after SAH,and Transcranial Doppler and DSA have same significance in assessment and prognosis of CVS following primary SAH,and TCD can be widely used in clinical medicine.
