Abstract
Through a century's effort, modern world folklore does deserve the real sense of the term now.Folklorists no longer focus on their own ethnic group or the other groups to distinguish themselves from anthropologists. It is also difficult for folklorists to find some strange or unique customs in a remote place of the modern world. From the perspective of world folklore, folklorists devote themselves to the understanding between the generations, between the ethnic groups, between the nations or even a universal understanding of the folklore creators. This should be the ultimate goal of folklore studies and Chinese folklore should organically combine itself with world folklore.
