The reasons why Zhang Xue liang began to devote his time and energy to the study of the history of the Ming dynasty after the Xian Incident are as follows. First, he acted in accordance with Jiang Jie shi's instruction of doing more reading than paying attention to politics. Second, the similar experience he shared with Wang Yang ming aroused his interest in the history of the Ming dynasty.
