Abstract
The changes of the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),free proline and soluble sugar of Celastrus orbiculatus seedlings under NaHCO3 stress were tested in this paper. The results showed that NaHCO3 stress led to obvious increase in MDA content and SOD activity.Under NaHCO3 stress, free proline and soluble sugar contents also increased obviously. With the increasing stress time, free proline content increased at first and then declined, while soluble sugar content was contrary to it.The increase in free proline and soluble sugar contents could contribute to NaHCO3 stress tolerance of Celastrus orbiculatus.
