Abstract

OBJECTIVE To establish rat models with insulin resistance syndrome induced by high-fructose diet. METHOD Wistar male rats were fed with 10% fructose liquid for six weeks.Routine clamping technique of blood sugar — high blood plasma insulin was used to evaluate the rats' insulin sensitivity and determine glucose tolerance, serum free fatty acid, triglyceride, plasma insulin, insulin sensitivity indexes, blood pressure and body weight. RESULT Compared with the blank group,in the model group the body weight did not increase markedly, but blood pressure increased greatly, glucose tolerance decreased, serum triglyceride, free fatty acid and plasma insulin content rose significantly, insulin sensitivity indexes, glucose infusion rate and glucose ingestion rate dropped markedly.CONCLUSION It is possible to use high-fructose diet to create rat models with insulin resistance syndrome.
