Epidemiological analysis of syphilis in Pinghu area of Shenzhen from 2008 to 2012

Abstract

Objective To explore factors related to the increased incidence of syphilis in the recent five years in a region of Shenzhen,and to provide reference for further prevention and treatment of syphilis.Methods New syphilis cases reported from 2008 to 2012 in the Pinghu area were collected and epidemiologically analyzed.Results It was indicated that the annual specific incidence rate had been increasing,Yearly incidence(54.26/100 000) was higher in male than in female(44.09/100 000) in the past five years;the constituent ratio was highest in the group of 20 ~ 39 years old;all the new cases of syphilis,recessive cases of syphilis,the first-stage cases and the second-stage cases accounted for 98.76%;The patients with secondary school educational background accounted for 76.99%and job-waiting person,workers accounted for 73.81%.patients of married was higher than unmarried.The migrants is the most.Conclusion On the basis of the epidemiology feature of syphilis in a area of Shenzhen,with prevention measures taken,the incidence of syphilis was controlled to some extent.
