Abstract

Three synthetic methods as well as characteristic features of 3-chloromethyl-△~3-cephem(GCLE), a new reactive intermediate for the synthesis of a wide variety of antibiotics of cephalosporin, are described.The synthetic utility of GCLE are also described.
