Abstract
A novel threephase serial connected voltage quality controller was developed to suppress voltage sag and eliminate voltage harmonics. The system voltage limit was analyzed using phase diagrams. The system compensation limit can be increased by injecting a proper zero sequence voltage into the system. The compensating voltage calculation method can directly calculate the missing voltage. The method can compensate for both steadystate voltage drops and the voltage harmonics. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation results prove the feasibility of the method.
