Abstract
By making analysis and comparison on the different schemes for the expansion joint and joint seal of underground box culvert for drainage in coastal area, the cause of leakage from expansion joint and joint was found out, and the factors to be considered and requirement for construction were proposed for ensuring the effectiveness of water seal.
