Abstract

Rebar's corrosion rate in concrete is significantly affected by environmental climate conditions.Experimental studies of rebar's corrosion rate in carbonated concrete were carried out under the artificial climate conditions. Results indicate that environmental temperature and relative humidity have significant influences on rebar's corrosion rate and there is a critical environmental relative humidity RH_0 on rebar's corrosion rate in carbonated concrete. When environmental relative humidity is higher than RH_0,the higher the environmental temperature and relative humidity, the bigger rebar's corrosion rate. When environmental relative humidity is lower than RH_0,rebar's corrosion rate is lower and can be neglected, while environmental temperature has little influences on it.
